GMC Clubmobile - #painting_stage2

The gloss coat GX100 from Mr.Hobby was airbrushed firstly.
I used Black Lion Decals set No 72025 to get correct markings, which were common for this vehicle during WWII. It's important to add second layer of gloss varnish to protect decals in the next steps.
Then I applied enamel Dark Brown Wash from AK Interactive as you can see in the picture.
To give more various chipping effects I tapped sponge with acrylics on the surface and cleaning it by flat brush. The airbrush cleaner (Vallejo) diuluted dried acrylics dots and thinned it making various effects. This technique could have other application in the future projects eg. winter camo.

GMC Clubmobile - #painting_stage

In the first painting stage I tried to get visible color contrast. It's fine color base for next painting stage: varnish layers, wash, oils and weathering.
At the beginning we should choose vivid and light tones to achieve right result. Some techniques should be overdone because it's 1/72 scale kit.

Tamiya and Hobby Color mixtures was perfect for airbrushing step. I used Vallejo Acrylic paints to make higlights using tiny flat brush.

I applied irregular shapes by airbrush to get some initial fade effects.
